\n\tWestJet has its musical instruments and sports equipment policy. The policy is designed to enable people to carry their equipment in airplane without affecting the operational efficiencies and ensuring safety of airplanes of the airlines.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWestJet does not want you to buy you additional seat for your sporting or musical instruments as many airlines do allow. However, it does accept small instruments as part of Carry On Baggage Allowance on the condition that these can be put in overhead cabin or under the passenger seat. Exceptions might be made for irregular sized instruments but the decision would be left up to the discretion of the cabin crew and customer service agent upon checking flight and baggage loads. If appropriately packed instruments might also be permitted as Check In Baggage, applicable excess baggage charges would be levied though.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWestJet allows sporting equipment to be carried provided it is packed appropriately and is within the prescribed weight and size limits for travel on domestic, international or chartered flights.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tSporting equipment would be subjectable to all relevant baggage fees. Baggage charges are combinable wherever deemed to be applicable so if a piece of sporting equipment is overweight, oversized and a second item, all three fares would apply.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBicycle and helmet <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\t1 bicycle and 1 helmet are permitted per passenger in cabin. All excess baggage charges apply if allowance limits of weight and size are breached. \n\t \n\tOne golf set consisting of golf balls, golf clubs and golf shoes per passenger is acceptd. \n\t \n\tWould be accepted in checked baggage if less than 9.8 feet (3 metres) long. \n\tSkis, water skis and snowboards <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tOne set is accepted per passenger including helmet, skis, boots and poles; or a snowboard and boots; or a pair of water skis. \n\tYou might check in your bicycle and container with a max. weight of 45 kilograms and linear size 292cm without having to pay an excess baggage charge.

\n\tBefore flying with your bike, please remove pedals. partially deflate your tires. fix handlebars sideways. pack the bicycle in a box or bag to protect your bike and prevent leakage from bicycles containing hydraulic fluid. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tGolfing equipment would have to be packaged in a rigid and\/or hard shell container specially designed for shipping, or in a bag with an attached hood.

\n\tAll boards should have the skeg\/fin removed, be padded, and packed appropriately to prevent damage to the board, sail and other baggage.

\n\tSki wax should be non-flammable. Butane or torches used to remove ski wax will not be accepted.
\n\tThe oversize bag fee would be waived.
