Emirates has two airline partners- Qantas airlines of Australia and flydubai of UAE.
By virtue of its partnership with Qantas airlines, you can travel to 55 destinations to which Qantas flies while booking ticket with Emirates. So, travel to/from Australia has become seamless. Emirates baggage allowance applies all the way.
If you fly with Emirates to one of the five cities in Australia connected by it, then you can fly on Qantas and JetStar airlines of Australia internally to over 55 destinations in Australia using the Walkabout Pass.
You can continue to earn and redeem Skywards Miles.
Emirates has partnership with flydubai. Whether you are flying flydubai and connecting with Emirates, or, flying Emirates and connecting with flydubai, you can have the baggage through checked in. Baggage allowances and charges of Emirates apply for the whole journey. Further, you can reach many destinations connected by flydubai across Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Middle East, West Asia, Far-East Asia and Indian Ocean region.
If Emirates is your originating flight, then you will get the boarding pass of flydubai during check-in itself. If your originating flight is flydubai, then you will have to check in again and collect the boarding pass at Emirates desk in Dubai airport.
