Germanwings is a low cost carrier of Germany which currently operates under the parent Lufthansa.
Cabin or hand baggage allowance is 1 piece of maximum 8 kg and size 55, 40, 23 cms. If the piece exceeds in dimensions or weight, it will be taken to the check in hold.
All liquids, waxes or gels are to be carried in cabin in limited quantity of 100 ml or 100 gram and packed in a resealable and transparent bag.
Duty Free shop products which are bought after completing the security checks can be carried in cabin.
For flights operated by partners, their cabin baggage rules apply.
Musical instruments are allowed to be carried in check-in baggage in a hard case. These shall not be bigger than a guitar. If these are packed in a soft case, it shall be taken in cabin. If these are large, then a seat needs to be bought to place these securely.
Check in luggage allowance on Germanwings depends on the fare class bought and whether the flight is short haul or medium-long haul. There are three fare classes of BASIC, SMART and BEST. There is no free allowance of check in baggage on BASIC fare category of Germanwings airline. Even the first bag of 23 kg is charged, as per the following table. However, there is reduced charge on first bag if you register it in advance of your flight time.
SMART Fare travellers, 1 pcs of 23 kg is allowed free.
BEST Fare travellers can check in 2 pcs of 23 kg free.
Each person is allowed a maximum of 5 baggage for checking in and each bag shall not weigh more than 32 kgs.

Excess baggage charges have been mentioned above in the chart. This can be registered online, via telephone and using Mobile Services of Germanwings for a discounted rate. Higher charges apply if the baggage is registered at the airport during check-in.

You are allowed to check in one pram, pushchair or travel cot per child without paying any additional charges. If these items are bulky, these would be treated as bulky baggage. Please note that Germanwings or Eurowings an their partner airlines do not provide child safety seats and, therefore, passengers are requested to carry these.

Sum of dimensions shall not be more than 158 cm per check in bag. This dimension limit is accepted in general worldwide.

Charges vary depending on route. Further, battery operated bikes are not allowed. For others, there are charges which have to be paid.

Yes, if you have not used the online check in facility. So, you shall check in using the online system. Then, you do not have to be in line at airport.

Check in baggage allowance for Eurowings depends on which type of fare ticket has been booked. If it is Basic Budget Fare, there is no free allowance ad you have to pay for 1st and 2nd check in baggage. Under Smart Fare, only 1 check in bag of upto 23 kg is allowed free and 2ng bag is chargeable. Under Best comfort Fare, allowance is 2 bags of 23 kg each.

Yes, this would be allowed. Hand baggage shall not be more than 55-40-23 cm dimensions and a small hand items shall not be more than 40-30-10 cm.

If it is the Smart class ticket, you would be allowed 1 bag of 23 kg free. If it is Budget class fare, there is no free allowance and you will have to pay for it.
