New check-in baggage policy w.e.f. June 15, 2018 is as follows:
a) Booking on or after 15 June, 2018 for travel on or after July 15, 2018, free allowance is limited to 1 check-in bag of up to 15 kg in Economy class and 2 bags of max 15 kg each in Premiere Class.
b) Booking on or after 15 June, 2018 for travel before July 14, 2018, free allowance is 15 kg in Economy and 30 kg in Premiere, irrespective of number of bags.
c) Booking on or before 14 June, 2018, free allowance is 15 kg in Economy and 30 kg in Premiere cabin class.
For International Flights, you can make use of baggage calculator provided on the website of Jet Airways for checking the free baggage allowance rates.
Check out the baggage allowance for interline international flights
Buying excess baggage online can save you 20% of what you have paid at the airport. However, it comes with certain terms and conditions, as given below:
You can purchase excess baggage online before 6 hours of flight departure time only for domestic flights within India. This can be done in weight slabs of 5kgs, 10 kgs, 15kgs, 20kgs & 25 kgs.
Website, mobile app or mobile site can be used for this purpose.
It is not allowed for the codeshare/interline flights of Jet Airways. Another important point to remember in this respect is that online purchase of excess baggage is permissible only for those e-tickets that have ticket number starting with 589.
Further, if there is a need to cancel the tickets including the excess baggage on desktop and mobile website and mobile app, it can be done upto 2 hrs before departure of domestic flights and up to 3 hours in case of international flights.
Excess baggage can not be booked using Manage My Booking on website for flights to/from London and Toronto, and from Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.
Refunds would be available for excess baggage when booking is cancelled by the passenger or Jet Airways cancels flight. However, refunds will not be applicable for 'No Show'. If there is a change of date of travel or time of travel, the excess baggage can be associated with the new booked flight.
Additional Baggage Allowance for JetPriviledge Members
Cabin baggage benefit: Blue, Blue Plus and Silver members are entitled to 7 kg allowance in cabin for all fare choices in economy class travel, and 10 kg in Premiere and First class flights. Gold and Platinum members are allowed 10 kg cabin allowance for all fare choices in Economy, Premiere and First Class travel.
Additional Check-in Baggage
While traveling on Jet Airways or JetKonnect in the Indian subcontinent, passengers travelling on Light and Deal fare choices under Economy class are not entitled to any additional allowance, irrespective of the status of membership. However, Co-brand and Silver card holders are allowed 5 kg extra for Saver, Classic and Flex in Economy Class and 10 kg extra if travelling in any fare choice (saver, classic or flex) under Premiere. Gold members travelling in Indian subcontinent countries are entitled to 10 kg extra weight under Saver, Classic and Flex in Economy and 15 kg under Saver, Classic and Flex under Premiere. Platinum members are entitled to extra 15 kgs in any fare choice of Economy and 20 kgs in any fare choice of Premiere class travel.
For other international flights, Blue and Blue Plus members are not entitled to any extra baggage allowance. Silver members are allowed 10 kg or 1 pcs of 23 kg under all fare choices of Economy and 10 kgs or 1 pcs of 32 kg under all fare choices of Premiere and First Class. Gold members can take additional 15 kg or 1 pcs of 23 kg in Economy and 15 kgs or 1 pcs of 32 kg in Premiere.
