Domestic Flights
For domestic flights with Korea, the free checked in baggage allowance is 20 kg for Economy and 30 kg for Prestige Class. Excess baggage is charged at KRW 2000 per kg.
International Flights
Check in allowance depends on route of travel in case of international flights. Each bag shall be less than 158 cm sum of dimensions and 23 or 32 kgs of weight (depending on your sector of travel). In no case shall each bag be more than 32 kg weight.
To / from Americas (excluding Brazil)
Economy Class travelers are allowed 2 bags of 23 kg each. Prestige Class travellers are allowed 2 bags of 32 kg each and First Class travellers are allowed 3 bags of 32 kg each.
If more pieces carried, then USD/CAD 200 per piece or KRW200000 per piece is charged from 3rd bag onwards. If overweight between 24-32 kgs, USD/CAD/KRW 200/200/200000 are charged respectively. From 33-45 kg overweight, USD/CAD/KRW 200/200/KRW 200000 are charged. Oversized baggage is charged USD/CAD/KRW 200000.
Please note that for the Prestige and First class passengers who are allowed excess baggage of 1 piece, the weight of piece shall be less than 23 kg. If excess piece weighs more than 23 kg, then charges will apply.
To / from Brazil
First class passengers are allowed 3 pieces of each up to 32 kg weight and Prestige or Economy Class passengers are allowed free baggage allowance of 2 pieces of 32 kg each.
Charges for additional piece of luggage, overweight luggage more than 32 and less than 45 kg or for oversized luggage of more than 158 cm and less than 203 cm are USD/CAD/KRW 175/175000. This is true for all classes of travel on this route.
Between Asia and Europe/Middle East/Africa/Oceania + to/from Europe/Middle East/Africa/Oceania
Economy class is allowed 1 bag of 23 kg each, Prestige 2 bags of 32 kg each and First Class 3 bags of 32 kg each.
For Economy class passengers 2nd piece is charged USD 130 or KRW 130000. 3rd piece of baggage onwards, the charges are USD 200 or KRW 200000 for all classes. Overweight baggage between 24-32 kg are charged USD 100 or KRW 100000 and between 33-45 kg are charged USD 200 or KRW 200000. Oversized baggage up to 203 cm is charged USD 200 or KRW 200000.
Between Korea and Japan/China/Taiwan/ Hong Kong/ Mongolia/ Macau
Economy, Prestige and First Class passengers are allowed check-in baggage of 1 bag of 23 kg, 2 bags of 32 kg each and 3 bags of 32 kg each respectively.
Additional 2nd piece of baggage for Economy is charged USD 70 and KRW 70000. 3rd excess baggage onwards, charges are USD 100 or KRW 100000. Overweight baggage of 24-33 kg is charged USD 50 or KRW 50000 and 33-45 kg is charged USD 100 or KRW 100000. Oversize baggage 159-203 cm is charged USD 100 or KRW 100000.
Remaining parts of Asia
Free allowance for Economy, Prestige and First class passengers is same as mentioned above. However, excess charges differ.
For Economy travellers, the 2nd baggage is charged USD 100 or KRW 100000. 3rd piece onwards, the charges are USD 150 or KRW 150000. Overweight baggage of 23-32 kg is charged USD 75 or KRW 75000 and 33-45 kg is charged USD 150 or KRW 150000. Oversized luggage up to 203 cm is charged USD 150 or KRW 150000.
Between USA and Brazil
Economy and Prestige class passengers are allowed free check-in baggage of 2 piece of 32 kg each. First Class passengers are allowed 3 bags of 32 kg each. Additional bags are allowed by paying a sum of USD 75 per bag. Overweight bag of 33-45 kg is charged USD 75 and oversized baggage of up to 203 cm is charged USD 75.
More Allowance for SKYPASS membership is permitted. Morning Calm Club, Morning Calm Premium Club members are allowed 1 additional piece of 32 kg and 23 kg for economy. However, additional baggage for Morning Calm Club members are not allowed for travel itineraries of Americas. Million Miler Club members are allowed 1 more piece of 32 kg.
In countries where weight system is applicable, additional 10 kg for Morning Calm Club, 20 kg for Morning Calm Premium Club and 30 kg for Million Miler Club is permitted.
Travellers can carry a maximum of one baggage for economy class and two for prestige class. The total of dimensions should not exceed 115cm for each baggage. Economy travellers are allowed 1 bag of 12 kg. For Prestige class passengers weight of both the bags should not exceed 18 kg.
Apart from the above, passengers can carry a notebook computer, briefcase, handbag or cosmetic bag, overcoat or blanket or wrap, infant food for consumption in flight or a pair of crutches, braces and the prosthetic devices.
Korean Air is liberal in allowing carriage of musical instrument of less than 115 cm sum of dimensions.
A child who has paid more than 75% of the fair, is entitled to the same baggage allowance as that of an adult and a checked/carry on fully collapsible stroller/push chair and one children’s car seat.
For infants a fully collapsible stroller/push chair and an infant carrying basket/child’s car seat may be carried over or checked in.
A child who has paid more than 75% of the adult fare, is entitled to the same baggage allowance as that of an adult and a checked/carry on fully collapsible stroller/push chair and one child car seat.
For infants (not occupying seat) a fully collapsible stroller/push chair and an infant carrying basket/child’s car seat may be carried over or checked in. in addition to kit they are entitled for a checked in baggage of 10kgs and dimension not exceeding 115cm (45 inches).
In case the travel happens to be in some other class, then the baggage allowance would be for the class for which the fare was paid.

We are not aware of any special allowance for seamen. Normal allowace will apply. If you are flying economy, then 1 bag of 23 kg, if flying Prestige class then 2 bags of 32 kg and for First class, 3 bags of 32 kg each are allowed free.

The standard size guitar can be taken in cabin within permitted allowance limits. If size is more, then a seat is to be bought and then taken in cabin.

Only 1 check in bag of up to 23 kg is free allowance for you. No special allowance for being a seamen in our notice. Please check with the airline as well.
Carryon baggage allowance is of 1 carry on bag and 1 personal item and total weight shall not be more than 12 kg for both while traveling in economy class.

1 bag of 23 kg is the check in baggage allowance. Carry on baggage allowance is 12 kg per person for economy class travel. Size of check in bag shall not be more than 158 cm in sum of dimensions and cabin bag dimensions shall not be more than 115 cm in sum of dimension.

If child is more than 2 years of age, baggage allowance of adults would be applicable to child as well. So, 2 bags of 23 kg each is free check in baggage allowance. You can also bring one light stroller free.

The 12 kg bag is meant for check in or cabin? If it is for cabin, then this might not be allowed along with backpack. So, it is better to take either of the two in cabin.

2 bags of 23 kg each are allowed free in check in baggage for this route. This is for each adult or child passenger flying on Korea Air for this route. Infants are allowed 1 check in bag of sum of dimensions 115 cm and weight of up to 10 kg.

From UK to Korea, currency of payment is generally GBP. However, please contact the local airline office in this respect. If it is 1 cm more, it can be ignored. Depends on what airline officials at airport decide. Total weight of carry on luggage shall not exceed 12 kg.

There is no special allowance for seamen. Free allowance is 1 bag of 23 kg in check in and 7 kg cabin allowance for economy class travel.
