Lufthansa has a number of alliances with other airlines and other businesses as well as a number of subsidiaries. It is also the founding member of Star Alliance which has 27 full time members.

Subsidiaries of Lufthansa include Austrian Airlines (including Tyrolean Airways), Swiss International Airlines (including Swiss European Air Lines and Edelweiss Air), Lufthansa Regional (including Air Dolomiti, Eurowings and Lufthansa Cityline), Germanwings, Lufthansa Cargo, LSG Sky Chefs, Lufthansa Consulting, Lufthansa Flight Training, Lufthansa Systems, Lufthansa Technik, Delvag and Global Load Control. It holds 50% in Aerologic and SunExpress.

Partners of Lufthansa also include hotel booking at HRS, car booking at Hertz and Avis, shopping at Shop & More, Ambient Media, HelpAlliance and Lufthansa Worldshop.
