Volaris airline is an ultra low cost Mexican carrier. The airline allows carriage of check-in baggage and cabin baggage on payment of fee or charges with certain restrictions on number of pieces, weight and size of the luggage. These details are given here.
Besides, there are charges for carrying additional, overweight and oversized baggage. These charges are also provided here.
The fee or charges is based on route of travel, channel through which ticket is booked and when the baggage is sought to be booked.
How much of baggage can be carried in check-in or as carry-on will depend on ticket class booked. Volaris has three fare class- Vuela Basic, Vuela Classic and Vuela Plus.
New Baggage Allowance policy of Volaris is effective from June 28, 2022.
Vuela Basic- 1 light cabin bag of 22 x 16 x 10 in dimensions and 1 personal item. Weight of both shall not be more than 22 lbs
Vuela Classic- 1 standard cabin bag of 22 x 16 x 10 in dimensions and 1 personal item. Weight of both shall not be more than 44 lbs
Vuela Plus- 1 standard cabin bag of 22 x 16 x 10 in dimensions and 1 personal item. Weight of both shall not be more than 44 lbs
Vuela Basic- Only 1 personal item of dimension 14 x 18 x 8 in allowed. No cabin bag allowed free. On payment of fee, 1 cabin bag of up to 22 lbs allowed.
Vuela Classic- 1 cabin bag of 22 x 16 x 10 in dimensions and 1 personal item of max 14 x 18 x 8 in size. One more cabin bag of (total weight of 2 cabin bags up to 22 lbs) can be added on payment of fee.
Vuela Plus- 2 cabin bags of 22 x 16 x 10 in dimensions each and weight of both not more than 44 lbs. Besides 1 personal item of 14 x 18 x 8 in also allowed.
Domestic Flights- Vuela Basic and Vuela Classic (including fare v. club and Clean fare) passengers are not allowed free check-in baggage in domestic flights. Only Vuela Plus members are allowed 1 check in bag of up to 25 kg weight (55 lbs) and 62 cm linear dimensions.
Vuela Basic and Vuela Classic passengers are not entitled to free check-in baggage allowance. Vuela Plus passengers are entitled to one check-in baggage allowance of 55 lbs and 62 inches linear dimensions.
Upto 5 check in bags of each weighing 25 kg and 62 inches linear dimensions are allowed to be carried.
Max permitted overweight baggage is 99 lbs per bag.
