Carry-on Baggage

A Passenger is permitted one piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 8 kilograms and measuring no more than 55 x 35 x 25 cms in LxWxH.

You could also carry an accessory or personal item of your choice like a Briefcase, Laptop Computer or Handbag.

Check-in Baggage

Every piece of checked baggage could have a maximum size of 158 cms (length x width x height) and a maximum weight of 23 (or 32) kilograms, depending upon the travel class and destination as mentioned in the table below -

To Iran 1x23, from Iran 1x32 kg.
From Middle East and India (excluding Israel) to USA, Mexico, Canada and vv. 2x23kg.

For reasons of safety every piece of baggage should not weigh more than 32 kilograms.

LIGHT FARE INFORMATION (Excess Carry On Baggage Policy)

Hand baggage which is in excess of the permissible weight or dimensions or baggage to be put in the hold is subject to a payment, per direction for the first bag, of a supplement of:

• € 25 for purchases made on the Alitalia website and during online check-in, through call centers and authorized travel agents, € 45 per direction at airport ticket desks and check-in desks. For additional baggage to put in the aircraft hold, the standard baggage allowances would be applicable.

• € 50 for intercontinental flights from Europe to United States and Canada, US$ 60 from United States and Canada to Europe. For additional baggage to put in the aircraft hold, the standard baggage allowances would be applicable.

• It would not be possible to purchase baggage online or through call centers at the reduced €25 fare for flights operated by other carriers or departing from the following airports: Amsterdam, Belgrade, Corfù, Dubrovnik, Fuerteventura, Geneva, Havana, Ibiza, Menorca, Mykonos, Las Palmas, Olbia, Oran, Palma de Mallorca, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Podgorica, Santorini, Split, Tenerife, Teheran, Tirana, Tunis, Zurich.

• In case the baggage service is purchased at the airport by the passenger, an additional charge might be requested as defined by the Airport Handler, which might vary based on the departure airport.

• The fare is also applicable to one-way and round trip flights. The price ccould vary based on the moment of purchase of the baggage service.

• Passengers who require Special Assistance and hold a Light Fare ticket could purchase checked baggage by calling the dedicated number one day before flight departure.

Infant Policy

Infants on lap, under 2 years of age, could fly after paying an Infant Fare. The Infant would also be entitled to baggage of up to 10 kgs.
