Air Canada again has New Delhi in its non-stop network

December 08, 2014

Air Canada will be flying to New Delhi again, four times a week, beginning from November 2015 and ths time it will be direct flights between New Delhi and Toronto. India has long historic ties with Canada. Many Indians have settled there over past decades, bringing up their generations in the North American country and contributing to its development. Air Canada, the premier airline of the country has decided to add New Delhi back in its network of direct flights.

It is not that Air Canada does not connect to New Delhi. In fact it connects from Toronto via London, Frankfurt, New York and Zurich. So, there are no direct flights at this time. The direct flights were suspended from February 2007 with no clear reason. At that time also, the flight were having good occupancy rates and India was a fast growing economy. The decision to withdraw the flights did come as a surprise even then.

The operation of direct flights will utilize the Boeing 787-9 series of aircraft. With this non-stop flight, Air Canada will fill the gap of not flying to a major international market that holds a lot of business, tourism and cultural bonding potential.
