AirAsia has launched its Asean Pass and Asean Pass+, two flight passes that aim to provide seamless connectivity on AirAsia across the ASEAN nations. AirAsia flies to about 140 destinations in the ASEAN region which comprises of countries like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei and Philippines.
These passes would permit the passengers to buy and redeem credits which could be used to cover 140 different destinations. The credits will be based on entire length of flight involved and the reward flight will not work on one flight-one credit basis. These are 10 credit Asean Pass and 20 credits Asean Pass+ which can be bought at the specified rates of various currencies. The Asean Pass would entitle passengers to travel in the abovementioned 10 countries within 30 days. Asean Pass+ would lead to doubling of credits as well as validity period. Passengers are also required to make bookings at least 14 days in advance of the travel dates. Redemption is allowed only against the base fares. Redemption would be done in counts of 1, 2 or 3 credits only. AirAsia has specified routes for use of these credits.
