Further strengthening the bond between their two airlines, Air France and Air Austral have now entered into a codeshare agreement which would permit passengers to fly between Europe and Indian Ocean region with greater choice of destinations reached. These two carriers already hold an interline agreement but this agreement will be apart from the previous one.

Under the agreement, Dzaoudzi and Moroni in Indian Ocean region of Reunion islands will now be open for the passengers of Air France, whereas the passengers of Austral will now have the benefit of traveling to 40 destinations across Europe from Paris De Gaulle airport. This agreement makes it possible for passengers to travel on one ticket and on a single fare. Another major benefit will be the addition of more miles under the respective frequent flier programs of the carriers- Flying Blue for Air France and Capricorne of Air Austral.
