RyanAir has an old connection with Shannon airport, one of the three main airports of Ireland, the other two being Dublin and Cork. It has been operating from this airport since 1988 and its services have been expanding on regular basis since then. RyanAir recently announced nine more flights for the summer season from the Shannon airport in the wake of growing aviation traffic here. The move is also expected to continue during the summer season as it plans to fly to 5 of its 9 routes in winters as well.
There 5 routes which will remain operational during the winters are:
a) To/from Paris-Beauvais- 6 times a week
b) To/from Warsaw- 4 times a week
c) To/from Krakow- 4 times a week
d) To/from Wroclaw- 4 times a week
e) To/from Berlin-4 times a week
This winter schedule is expected to bring about 3,00,000 more passengers into Shannon and give move a step closer to sustainable airport operations for the whole year, across all seasons.
Ryan has also announced this move in the wake of growing air traffic at Shannon.
