Aeroplan Status- Miles That Are Not Counted

Aeroplan is the frequent flyer program of Air Canada which allows passengers to earn and redeem Aeroplan Miles on its flights and on a number of partners from different industry verticles. A passenger moves up the membership level of program by earning certain number of eligible Miles. In counting these eligible miles, the following types of Miles earned are not to be counted:

  • signing up for a financial card;
  • bonus miles received as a benefit of the Air Canada Altitude program or Aeroplan status;
  • where miles have been earned through conversion from other programs or
  • where miles are earned as transfers between member accounts, top-up miles, contest prizes, and reinstated miles
