If you look at the charts given on the website of Delta Airlines pertaining to its checked baggage, it might look a bit confusing. We have tried to make things a little easier for you here. Please note that there are standard maximum dimensions limitations of L+B+H are 157cms.

Economy Travelers

Maximum baggage weight allowed is 23 kgs per bag. You would have to pay for both the first and the second baggage of up to 23kgs each in all routes which cover destinations of USA, Canada and Central America. Charges are USD/CAD 25 for first baggage and 40 for second baggage, except when you are traveling within USA and Canada where the charges for second bag are USD/CAD 35 per bag.

On all other routes, when traveling in economy, the first checked in baggage is free of charge whereas for the second baggage the charges are 75 USD/CAD/EUR when you are flying from anywhere in Americas (north, south and central) to India, Middle East and South America, 100 USD/CAD/EUR when flying from Americas to Europe, North Africa and Israel and for destinations of Southern Africa and South-east Asia and Far-East Asia, there are no charges even for the second checked in bag.

For flying economy on Delta Airlines within Brazil, you are allowed both first and second baggage free of cost. And, both these bags can be of 32kgs each of maximum weight.

Business Elite and First class

The checked in baggage rules are even simpler. For travel with USA and Canada or between destinations in Brazil, you are given free allowance of carrying up to 3 bags with each bag of 32kgs max. weight.

For flying all other routes on these classes, two bags of 32kgs each are allowed to be carried without any charge.
